Going
Home |
Children should, as a rule, follow the same home time routine each
day.
If there is any necessary change in this routine please send a note
in to the teacher on that morning.
Telephone messages about changes should only be used in emergencies.
Many of the telephone messages we receive relate to information that
children already know about.
Also it is very easy for a telephone message not to get passed on
for many reasons. |
| Buses
|
The Transport Section of the SELB manages yellow buses to the school.
Our area officer is Mr John Doogan who is based at Board Headquarters.
Applications to use SELB buses should be sent to the Transport Section
at Board Headquarters.
Other services are provided through Ulsterbus, Dungannon.
We talk to children often about the need for good, responsible behaviour
on buses.
Please remind them about this at home.
Safety awareness on buses is very important.
Teachers put pupils on to buses each afternoon.
Children are seated when they leave school.
Please remind your child regularly that he or she should stay in
their seat until they reach their stop.
Children should be on their best behaviour on the bus each day.
Causing disruption and attracting the driver's attention can lead
to serious accidents.
Disruptive and dangerous behaviour should be reported to the bus
authorities.
The vast majority of children behave very well on buses.
The behaviour of all should be as good as the best. |
We
all also need to talk to our 'walkers' about safety.
Children need to be reminded often to stay on the footpath and to
go directly home after school..
If there is any unusual delay in your child arriving home please contact
us immediately
We are conscious with the approach of winter each year of children
standing at roadsides waiting for buses.
We remind them often to be very careful. Our uniform is dark from
head to toe.
Children should have something like a reflective and bright strip
attached to their school bag or coat at these times.
It is essential that drivers easily see them on dark mornings.
In winter we need to be equally aware in the late afternoons.
This applies not only to our bus children but also to our walkers
as well.
We take every opportunity we can to highlight safety issues. |
