PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT

We are a Catholic school.

We are proud of the distinctive heritage and traditions of our parish community.

The practices and teachings of the Church are central in the daily life in our school.

We are a community and all participants are valued members who contribute to our community.

We pray together as a community in class and at school assembly.

Presentation of children for First Holy Communion and Confirmation are highlights of the school year.
First Holy Communion will be celebrated by pupils in Primary 4 on Saturday, 21 May 2005.
This year we will again hold a party in school after First Communion for children and their families.

We have found this to be a lovely occasion.

It lessens the pressure on many families to go elsewhere to hotels, etc. after Communion.

We are grateful for your support for this event.

We care about each other and we show respect for each other.

We all work together to create within our school an atmosphere that reflects our homes. School is an extension of home.

We can only achieve this by staff and parents working in partnership.

If you have any concerns or worries at all please speak to one of us at the school.

All of us, staff, parents and children, contribute to the atmosphere in our school.

We aim to make it Christian, happy and friendly.

Our school is a place where all can feel both safe and secure.
The spirit of childhood is treasured and promoted in our school.

We encourage children to grow:
  • to respect themselves and to show respect for others

  • to be the best each can be personally, socially and academically

  • to take part in all the activities they can, including sport, music, trips and so on

  • to make the best use of their time in school

  • to enjoy their primary school days

  • to be self-disciplined

  • to know their own strengths and weaknesses

  • to grow in their understanding of their own values and attitudes and the values of others

  • to be friendly with everyone

We aim to empower our children -
  • to give them knowledge

  • to help them to develop attitudes, values and skills

  • to enable them to make good choices in their lives.
